Asthma and Allergies

Asthma can be scary for both children and parents. If your child has asthma, you know how much it can affect your child’s quality of life, sidelining him or her from physical activities and even affecting academics because of missed school time.

MD Pediatrics’ goal is to keep your child in the game by controlling asthma symptoms and preventing asthma attacks. Our physicians and nurse practitioners are experts in diagnosing, managing, and treating asthma, providing a comprehensive approach to asthma care designed to keep your child healthy and active.

We’ll also help you and your child recognize their particular asthma “triggers” and warning signs, so that you can avoid triggers and begin treatment as quickly as possible when you need to.

One of the most important ways to keep asthma under control is to ensure that your child takes his or her asthma medication as directed. In the video below, our very own Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Kim Mowery explains how to properly use inhalers and spacers in asthma management. For a child-oriented version, please see this video lesson on inhaler use.

The MD Pediatrics team is happy to answer any questions to may have about your child’s asthma care. Please contact us at 972.420.1475 with your questions or concerns – and if you feel that your child needs emergency care, always call 911.

"My time is valuable and I really appreciate that MD Pediatrics sees my children in a timely fashion."
